About Cisco IOS Voice Gateways
Cisco IOS and IOS XE routers can act as voice gateways, or as a Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), between a phone system and an outside SIP provider.
This is a common way to connect Cisco Unified Communications Manager and other IP or TDM phone systems to SIP trunks, and Resonance Telcom connects to these gateways with standard settings.

Do I need CUBE?
If you are connecting an IP phone system such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager to SIP trunks, CUBE is the usual approach. If the router only bridges analog or digital interfaces to SIP, a voice gateway configuration may be enough.
Can I keep my existing dial peers?
In most cases you add new SIP dial peers for Resonance Telcom and adjust routing, rather than starting over. We can review your configuration with you.
